Miss Dana

RECE Lead Teacher
I have always known that I wanted to work with children. In 1994, I graduated from the Early Childhood Education program at Humber College. I began teaching at preschool in Etobicoke.
After moving to Oakville and having a child I decided to become a stay-at-home mom. My son attended Nottinghill, as I loved the idea of a co-operative preschool. Volunteering in the class and chairing a committee allowed me to make lifelong friendships while also reigniting my passion for education. I briefly stepped into a teaching role when a short term supply was needed in the JK program.
I continued to volunteer while my son attended elementary school. I especially loved being involved in the All Star reading program. I enjoyed getting to know the children and using various strategies to improve their reading skills. Watching their confidence grow was amazing!
Fast forward several years and I was fortunate enough to be offered a position at Nottinghill. The children, their families and the fabulous group of teachers make it a pleasure to come to work everyday. I feel blessed to have been welcomed into such close knit community with open arms!
